Justin Gaethje claims he will “quit” UFC if Conor McGregor is given another title shot

Conor McGregor is set to return to the octagon later this year to face Michael Chandler. Fans have speculated that a win over Chandler would be enough for McGregor to be given another title shot by the UFC brass. However, one fighter who doesn’t want that to happen is Justin Gaethje.

In a recent interview with ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Gaethje discussed his future, a potential rematch with Dustin Poirier, and his feelings about McGregor. When asked about his reaction if McGregor were given a title shot after beating Chandler, Gaethje said he would seriously consider walking away: “Would I quit if Conor won and they gave him a title shot? Probably. That’s how hurt I would be by the actions of the company that I represent. But that’s out of my control, so you know, I just really hope that it doesn’t happen. We can imagine a lot of things but there’s a possibility that that’s the scenario, which I would be devastated, for sure.”
