Fans also accused the 35-year-old fighter of copying Irish superstar Conor McGregor’s lines from his third fight against Dustin Poirier. Despite this backlash, Muhammad has been on a spectacular run in the UFC, going undefeated in his last 10 bouts and defeating formidable fighters such as Gilbert Burns, Stephen Thompson, Demian Maia, Sean Brady, and Vicente Luque.
In March 2021, Belal Muhammad faced Leon Edwards at UFC Fight Night 187 in a five-round main event that ended controversially due to an accidental eye-poke from Edwards. With Muhammad’s recent wins, some fans believe he should get a title shot and rematch against Edwards.
