Laura Sanko’s recent Instagram submission compilation has gained much attention from fight fans. Sanko, who frequently shares her training sessions on social media platforms, teamed up with MMA fighter Paul Kolenda for this particular compilation.
The amusing video features the former Invicta atomweight demonstrating various submission techniques while putting Kolenda through his paces. The segment concludes with the sportscaster playfully slapping Kolenda behind the head, as he finds himself caught in an unconventional submission hold. Fans were thoroughly entertained by the footage and expressed their delight in the comments section.
Sanko, a former MMA fighter, has a professional record of 1-0 and an amateur record of 4-1. She made history as the first female color commentator to be part of a UFC broadcast during the Zuffa era.
On February 4, 2023, Laura Sanko debuted as a UFC commentator at UFC Vegas 68, becoming the second woman to do so and the first in the modern era of the world’s premier MMA promotion. During a media interaction at the Fighters Only World MMA Awards, she discussed the significance of this achievement, stating:
“It’s hard to encapsulate what that means, honestly. To become the first female commentator since UFC 1, it was a goal of mine for a very, very long time and so it’s almost surreal to stand here, having achieved it, to be honest, because last year, when I was walking on this red carpet it was not a reality and now it is. So it is kind of interesting to be here, full circle… It feels good to represent the woman who loves this sport so much.”
