Michael Chandler Corrects Fan’s Billionaire Label for Conor McGregor with One-Word Response

Michael Chandler has made a subtle dig at Conor McGregor’s expense on social media while correcting a fan. A potential fight between Chandler and McGregor has been in discussion since January 2023 when Dana White announced that the pair would be coaching opposite one another on The Ultimate Fighter. They were then expected to face off before the end of the year, but nothing has been confirmed.

Despite the ambiguity surrounding the fight, Chandler, known as ‘Iron,’ maintains that he will be facing the Irishman next. This contrasts with McGregor, known as ‘Notorious,’ who has continually played down his return and potential opponent. Chandler recently responded to White on the social media site X (formerly Twitter), who claimed they were still in talks with McGregor. When a fan asked the former Bellator champ if he expects to face him at UFC 300, Chandler responded, “Depends if he has the balls..”

Another fan defended McGregor’s accomplishments, tweeting, “Conor went from a Plumber on Welfare to a Billionaire…I think he has plenty of balls, Mike…bad analogy…sounds like you haven’t achieved his level of success, Mike so let’s not be too cocky buddy.” The 37-year-old hit back, taking a shot at McGregor’s net worth and replying, “*Millionaire.”

Chandler believes McGregor and his PR team are actively trying to avoid fighting him. With no bout between the pair materializing in 2023, rumors suggest Chandler and McGregor will face off in UFC 300’s card coming up in April 2024. While Chandler is down for the fight, McGregor continues to be secretive about his potential return date. On Steve-O’s Wild Ride podcast, Chandler outlined his belief that McGregor is waiting him out in hopes of getting an easier opponent, adding, “I’m literally bulletproof. I’m fine. I can wait this out as long as you want. You wanna try and retire me? I’ll retire you right back.”
