UFC 300 is gearing up to be one of the biggest events in the company’s history, scheduled for April 13, 2024, at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. UFC president Dana White recently took to social media to announce the first three fights for the event. However, he clarified that none of these bouts will serve as the main or co-main event.
The announced fights include Jiri Prochazka vs. Aleksandr Rakic, which will likely be a number one contender’s fight at light heavyweight, Bo Nickal vs Cody Brundage, and Aljamain Sterling’s featherweight debut against Calvin Kattar. Additionally, White supplemented the UFC 300 fight announcements with some other cards, including Robert Whittaker vs. Paulo Costa and Ian Garry vs. Geoff Neal which were added to UFC 298; Brian Ortega vs Yair Rodriguez for a Fight Night card in Mexico City; and Erin Blanchfield vs Manon Fiorot for another Fight Night card set in Atlantic City.
There are speculations surrounding a now-deleted tweet by Conor McGregor, hinting at his potential comeback fight. Many believe that the Irishman may have chosen the April 13 event as the night of his return to the octagon. In the tweet, McGregor shared a picture of a new training facility under construction, featuring an octagon inside, with the caption “Champ Champ Camp.”
McGregor had previously appeared as a coach on Season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter alongside Michael Chandler. It is widely believed that Chandler will be the one to welcome ‘The Notorious’ back into the octagon. Considering the significance of UFC 300 and McGregor’s status as the top superstar in the sport, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Irishman ends up headlining this major UFC event.
