UFC flyweight Kai Kara-France has come under fire from fellow flyweight Muhammad Mokaev for apparently backtracking on his comments and avoiding discussions about a possible fight between them. Mokaev criticized the New Zealand fighter for claiming not to know about him when asked about the potential matchup.
Before Mokaev’s UFC debut in 2022 against Cody Durden, he and Kara-France had exchanged compliments, with the latter praising Mokaev’s form and acknowledging him as a future contender. In response, Mokaev had politely accepted this praise, informing Kara-France that he would join UFC sooner than expected and wishing him luck in his upcoming fight.
Recently, Mokaev posted a graphic from Sportskeeda containing the past exchange between the two fighters. This highlights Kara-France’s previous awareness of Mokaev despite his contradictory response to the recent question.
Kara-France has lost his last two fights against Brandon Moreno and Amir Albazi. In contrast, Mokaev remains undefeated in his professional career with an impressive win over Tim Elliott at UFC 294, bringing his total number of victories inside the octagon to five.
Despite being lower-ranked than Kai Kara-France, who holds the No. 4 spot in the UFC flyweight division, No. 8 ranked Muhammad Mokaev has received an abundance of support from his fans. Many have remarked on his promising potential and assert that Kara-France is merely trying to avoid suffering a similar fate as his teammates who have faced Dagestani opponents.
