Jason Whitlock, a former Fox Sports reporter, used his YouTube platform to threaten to expose former NFL star and now analyst, Shannon Sharpe. The warning came after Sharpe’s former partner, Stephen A. Smith, suggested that Whitlock had been fired from Fox Sports. In his video, Whitlock tells both Sharpe and Smith to “cut it out” and that he knows the real reason behind Sharpe’s departure from his previous show, ‘Undisputed’ alongside Skip Bayless.
Whitlock specifically targets Shannon Sharpe in his video, saying, “Shannon Sharpe needs to cut it out. I know what happened at FS1.” He goes on to add that Sharpe is attempting to direct blame towards Fox executives while also trying to create a media storm that would ultimately lead to someone’s replacement. Whitlock states, “Shannon Sharpe is trying to point a finger at a Fox executive or two, trying to smear them and put pressure on them to drum up a media storm of someone needing to be replaced… blame this executive… he pushed me out…”
It’s unclear at this time what information Whitlock has about Sharpe’s departure from ‘Undisputed,’ but his threatening tone implies that he is willing to reveal it if Sharpe and Smith continue pursuing whatever agenda they have been engaging in. The rivalry between the two former athletes and current analysts seems to show no signs of abating, and it is unclear if Sharpe and Smith will heed Whitlock’s warnings.
For now, Whitlock’s threat has yet to be answered, and Sharp remains an analyst in the NFL. It remains to be seen if Whitlock will follow through on his promise to expose the behind-the-scenes drama, or if Sharpe and Smith will choose to back down from their positions. The ongoing conflict between these high-profile characters in the sports world will undoubtedly continue to unfold in the future.
