Actor and comedian Aries Spears recently defended Larry Bird against comments made by Dennis Rodman. As one of Michael Jordan’s biggest fans, Spears took issue with the statement made by “The Worm” that Bird would not have been successful in the NBA today.
Spears on Rodman’s Comments
In an appearance on Vlad TV, Spears discussed Rodman’s take on the Boston Celtics legend. He defended Bird, calling him the real deal and the truth. Spears had strong words for Rodman, telling him to “get the f**k out of here.”
Bird’s Skills and Legacy
Spears went on to praise Bird for his abilities on the court. “Larry Bird was the truth, man. For a guy that most people say wasn’t athletic, couldn’t jump and couldn’t even jump over a phonebook, Larry is the truth. 3-point sniper, basketball IQ through the roof. Tenacious player,” he said. It’s clear that Spears has a deep respect for the three-time NBA champion’s skills and legacy, despite Rodman’s thoughts on the matter.
