The Dallas Cowboys did not make any significant moves during the 2023 NFL Draft. Besides acquiring the Kansas City Chiefs’ sixth-round selection (176th overall) in exchange for their 2024 fifth-rounder, the team decided to hold on to their remaining picks. Now, the Cowboys are continuing their quest for new players by signing undrafted free agents.
Success with Undrafted Free Agents
The Cowboys have had considerable success with undrafted free agents (UDFAs) throughout the years. Mark Tuinei and Miles Austin both went on to become Pro Bowlers while playing for the team. Everson Walls, Dan Bailey, and Tony Romo all achieved All-Pro status, whereas Drew Pearson and Cliff Harris became inductees in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Eight Picks in the 2023 Draft
Despite only having eight picks in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Cowboys are optimistic about their chances of landing more new talent by signing undrafted free agents. The team hopes that these players will follow in the footsteps of their many successful UDFAs.
Continuing the Search for Talent
As the team moves forward, the Dallas Cowboys remain persistent in scouting new players and improving their roster. They will continue to sign undrafted free agents and hope that these acquisitions will result in further success on the football field.
