Brad Gilbert, former coach of Andre Agassi, recently expressed his delight at seeing Roger Federer practicing with his agent, Tony Godsick, and Nico, the son of former World No. 4 Mary Joe Fernandez who plays for the Stanford University intercollegiate tennis team. Federer and Godsick first met in 2005 when Federer sought out the International Management Group (IMG) to represent him, and Godsick was working at the sports company. They later left IMG in 2012 to form their own management organization, Team8.
In 2022, Federer retired from professional tennis at the Laver Cup in Vancouver due to ongoing knee injuries, but remains active in recreational tennis. A video recently surfaced of the 42-year-old practicing with 19-year-old Nico at Stanford University. Despite wearing casual attire, Federer’s forehand remains as strong as ever. Nico, who is part of the Stanford Cardinals team, also showed great potential, generating impressive pace with his athleticism, though he hasn’t yet made the ATP Top 1000 rankings.
After his retirement, Federer has been enjoying his life off the court, spending time with his wife, Mirka, and their two sets of twins. He has been sharing photos of their family vacations and indulging in business ventures, such as launching his own line of ON sneakers called “The ROGER Clubhouse Pro.”
