Andre Agassi’s former coach Brad Gilbert congratulated the reopening of Hunters Point Tennis Courts alongside Frances Tiafoe and Yannick Noah. The courts were first opened on June 6, 1987, by the legendary Arthur Ashe and were recently refurbished and reopened on March 27, 2024, in his honor.
Brad Gilbert shared his excitement on social media and highlighted Arthur Ashe’s involvement in the creation of the tennis courts. He also expressed eagerness to visit the courts and see the programs in action.
Frances Tiafoe congratulated the community and Youth Tennis Advantage for the opening of the refurbished tennis courts and encouraged kids to enjoy the game and learn from their instructors. Yannick Noah also congratulated everyone involved in the effort and reminisced about playing at Wimbledon alongside his mentor, Arthur Ashe.
In addition to his involvement in the tennis community, Brad Gilbert also worked as a consultant for the upcoming tennis film Challenger, starring Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist. He praised Zendaya’s athleticism and ability to move well on the court due to her dancing background.
