Tennis star Andy Murray recently shared a humorous piece of advice for new parents, suggesting they should avoid having four children. The former World No. 1 has been enjoying some family time during his break from the ongoing French Open 2023, as he gears up for the grass-court season and the Wimbledon Championship.
Private family life with occasional social media glimpses
Married to Kim Sears since 2015, the couple are parents to Sophia (seven), Edie (five), Teddy (three), and Lola (two). While Murray is typically private about his family life, he occasionally shares updates on social media. In a recent tweet, he wrote, “Little parenting tip for any new parents out there…don’t have 4 of them (laughing emoji)”. The tennis champion also posted photos on Instagram from a holiday last month with his wife and kids in Marbella.
Preparation for Wimbledon Championship
Andy Murray has chosen to withdraw from the French Open 2023 to focus on his home Slam, The Wimbledon Championship, and the grass court season. The two-time Wimbledon champion feels that skipping the French Open will improve his chances at the Grass Slam. He recently stated in an interview with The Guardian, “I trust my body now, but I’m aware that my best chance of having a deep run is more likely to happen at Wimbledon.”
Andy Murray’s tennis journey and future plans
Murray has had a mixed season in 2023, with eight wins and eight losses. Earlier this month, he won his first title in 2019 at the Aix-en-Provence ATP Challenger Tournament, defeating American Tommy Paul in the final. The British tennis player is set to play at the Cinch Championships at Queen’s Club from 19-25 June as he continues to prepare for the upcoming Wimbledon Championship.
