Boris Becker impressed by Liverpool’s performance in crucial 2-2 draw against Arsenal in Premier League

German tennis legend Boris Becker recently expressed his admiration for Liverpool’s performance in a crucial Premier League fixture against Arsenal. Liverpool managed to secure a 2-2 draw against Arsenal, despite being on the brink of defeat. It was Roberto Firmino’s goal in the 87th minute that proved to be a game-changer.

Liverpool’s Thrilling Performance

During the Premier League clash against Arsenal on April 9, Brazilian attacker Roberto Firmino scored a last-ditch equalizer for Liverpool. This sent the Anfield crowd into a frenzy as the team managed to secure a draw against the Gunners. Boris Becker took to social media to express his admiration for Liverpool’s performance and congratulated them on their hard-earned draw.

Boris Becker’s Time in Prison

In April 2022, Boris Becker was sentenced to a 30-month prison term for concealing assets and unlawfully transferring large sums of money after being declared bankrupt. He has since expressed that his time behind bars has been transformative, making him a stronger, better man. Becker was granted early release through a fast-track deportation program designed for foreign nationals and is prohibited from returning to Britain for the next decade.

Prison Experience Humbles Becker

The six-time Grand Slam champion shared his prison experience in an interview with the BBC, admitting that his younger self never fathomed being incarcerated. The ordeal, however, humbled him and taught him that the rules apply to everyone, regardless of status or fame. He said, “I never thought at 17 I’d be incarcerated at 54. If anything it certainly humbled me, it certainly made me realize that whether you’re called Boris Becker or Paul Smith, if you break the law, you get convicted and you get incarcerated, that goes for everybody.”

Becker asserted that his time in prison had a profound impact on his character, making him a stronger and more resilient individual. He firmly believes that this experience will shape his future decisions and actions, saying, “With my decisions in the future you can see whether I have learned from it or I didn’t.”
