Casper Ruud Reminisces on Playing with Stefanos Tsitsipas as Kids, Wearing Rafael Nadal Kit

Casper Ruud recently sported a 2009 Rafael Nadal kit as he reminisced on his childhood memories with Stefanos Tsitsipas. The two had just finished playing against each other in the Monte-Carlo Masters, where Tsitsipas won 6-1, 6-4 for his third title in Monte-Carlo.

Ruud shared an Instagram picture from their childhood days, showing them playing together at an early age. He expressed his pride and excitement, congratulating Tsitsipas on their shared journey to the final. Ruud went on to say that such memories serve as inspiration for him to continue advancing in his tennis career.

After losing to Tsitsipas in the Monte-Carlo Masters, Ruud praised his opponent’s forehand and backhand skills. Acknowledging that Tsitsipas was strong on both sides, Ruud admitted he struggled to find any openings in the Greek’s play. He also noted that Tsitsipas’ backhand made a significant difference in the match’s outcome.

Following the Monte-Carlo Masters, both Ruud and Tsitsipas have climbed in the ATP rankings. Ruud now ranks 6th, while Tsitsipas has risen to 7th place.
