Daniil Medvedev has recently hinted, in a humorous fashion, that he might consider a career in Formula 1 racing after he retires from tennis. Medvedev is presently participating in the Italian Open in Rome, where he faced and won against Bernabe Zapata Miralles in the third round, with a score of 3-6, 6-1, 6-3.
Unique Outfit and Career Choices
During a post-match interview with the Tennis Channel, Prakash Amritraj asked Medvedev about his unusual outfit, which closely resembled a checkered flag used in Formula 1 racing. Medvedev confessed his affinity for the sport and that a surprising 85% of people have suggested he should have pursued F1 driving instead of tennis. When Amritraj asked if he would consider a career as a rapper, Medvedev reaffirmed his preference for F1 racing, as he believes he possesses the skills to be a successful driver.
Potential F1 Pursuit After Tennis
The former World No. 1 also hinted at the possibility of pursuing racing after his tennis career if he can find the time. Medvedev revealed his inclination towards F1, saying he could see himself doing well in racing and may look into the possibility after his tennis career comes to a close.
Focus on Tennis Performance
For now, Medvedev is dedicated to his tennis career and remains enthusiastic about his recent clay-court performances. After his victory over Bernabe Zapata Miralles in the Italian Open, he expressed his ambition to continue winning and maintain his strong form throughout the remainder of the clay season.
