Excitement About Next Gen ATP Players

He stated, “Everyone can see that the next generation is coming closer. Me, Carlos, Rune, Tsitsipas, Zverev, Medvedev… Everyone is different and has different personalities and ways to play. It’s fun to be part of it.”

Relationships with Other Players

Sinner also shared that he has “good relations” with everyone on the tour and maintains a friendly rapport with his competitors. However, he emphasized that his primary focus remains on winning and performing well on the court. Sinner said, “I more go out and do my job and go back to my team and my friends.”

Playing Against Tennis Legends

The young player discussed his experiences playing against tennis legends like Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray. He expressed regret that he never had the opportunity to play against retired players Roger Federer and Juan Martin del Potro. Furthermore, Sinner mentioned his hope that Kei Nishikori would make a comeback, as he would love to compete against the Japanese player before he retires.

Learning from Losses and Aiming for Consistency

Jannik Sinner acknowledged his recent “heartbreaking” losses at Grand Slam events against Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, and Stefanos Tsitsipas, which were all intense five-set matches. Despite the disappointment, he sees the silver lining in these defeats, indicating that he is learning from his mistakes and is not far from achieving success. Sinner remarked, “Last year I was very consistent and made a lot of quarterfinals. This year, I hope I can take it a level further.”
