Tennis enthusiasts on social media expressed their dissatisfaction with Novak Djokovic as he vented his frustration at his team during the 2024 Australian Open. A video clip of the Serb’s behavior circulated on social media soon after he split with coach Goran Ivanisevic on March 27. Djokovic lost to eventual champion Jannik Sinner in the semifinal clash and struggled throughout the match, losing 6-1, 6-2, 6-7 (6), 6-3.
In the video, Djokovic can be seen pointing at his team box and expressing his displeasure to coach Ivanisevic, trainer Marco Panichi, physiotherapist Miljan Amanovic, and hitting partner Carlos Gomez Herrera. The clip received mixed reactions from tennis fans on X (formerly Twitter) following Djokovic’s separation from Goran Ivanisevic, who joined his team in 2019.
On March 27, Djokovic announced his split with Croatian coach Ivanisevic in an Instagram post, maintaining that their on-court relationship never impacted their off-court friendship. Ivanisevic, who competed professionally on the ATP Tour between 1988 and 2004, joined Djokovic’s team in June 2019. Ivanisevic won the Wimbledon Championships in 2001 and reached a career-high World No. 2 in singles rankings.
