11-Time WWE Tag Team Champion Praises New World Tag Team Championship Design

The WWE universe has been buzzing with excitement as the new regime under Triple H has brought about several changes in belt designs, garnering positive reactions from fans and wrestling veterans. One such decorated multi-time champion who recently shared his opinion on the newly introduced belts is none other than Matt Hardy.

During an episode of “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy,” the 11-time WWE Tag Team Champion expressed his approval of the new title designs. “I like the new design, better than the penny belts, as people have called them or whatever. So, it is what it is. I would consider that as an upgrade, you know, when it comes to talking about versions,” Hardy commented, giving his stamp of approval to the changes made by the new leadership.

Matt Hardy also delved into the reasoning behind the old titles, which were distinctively colored for the RAW and SmackDown brands. He explained, “I guess I get why they were doing the red and blue titles. They were really trying to brand and promote, specifically the RAW and SmackDown brands, and they have done a good job at that over the years. But, I think it’s one of those things where it’s much better if you have like a more classy (…) A title that seems very valid, that seems like it has equity that looks like a cool trophy that everybody would want to win. I feel like that means more than having something that you’re using to try and push as a branding point for your promotion.”

The new titles have already made their presence felt on WWE programming. Following WrestleMania XL, the tag team division has been revitalized under Triple H’s direction, with the World Tag Team Championships going to the red brand and the WWE Tag Team Championships to the blue brand. Awesome Truth, the team of The Miz and R-Truth, had a successful title defense on Monday Night RAW, showcasing the prestige of the new belts in action.

The WWE community continues to discuss these developments, with many sharing their thoughts on The Awesome Truth and the impact of the new titles on the tag team division. The conversation extends to fans and commentators alike, who are invited to voice their opinions on the direction WWE is taking with its championship titles under the new leadership.
