Ex-WWE Staff Reveals Reasons Behind Stephanie McMahon’s WrestleMania XL Appearance

In a recent episode of The Jim Cornette Experience, the former WWE manager Jim Cornette shared his thoughts on Stephanie McMahon’s presence during the WrestleMania weekend. The Billion Dollar Princess was first seen in the audience at the Hall of Fame ceremony, and later, she opened Night Two of WrestleMania XL. She welcomed the fans and heralded a new era for WWE under the leadership of the Chief Content Officer, her husband Triple H.

Cornette discussed that WWE likely took note of Stephanie’s positive reception at the Hall of Fame event. He speculated that the original plan might have been for Triple H to open both nights of WrestleMania, but the decision was changed to have Stephanie appear on the second night after the audience’s reaction. “Her being there without much, just being in the crowd at the Hall of Fame, why shouldn’t she be able to be there? But at the same time, there was no outcry, ‘Ban her!’ Triple H got the great reaction on Night One. I understand in internal documents, they had Triple H going out in her place at Night Two, but here came Stephanie, and the response was fine,” Cornette explained.

The move to have Stephanie McMahon appear was seen by Cornette as an effort to reassure fans that the new era would be distinct from Vince McMahon’s time in charge. He mentioned that the promotion is branding this period as the Triple H or Paul Levesque era, emphasizing a fresh start. “They’re pushing the tagline that this is the Triple H era or Paul Levesque era, but it’s a new era. They babyfaced those members of that family that were, by the accounts we’ve heard and stuff we talked about, they were the ones trying to avoid Vince for the last few years,” Cornette noted.

Following WrestleMania, Triple H himself praised Stephanie McMahon’s appearance at the event during a post-WrestleMania press conference. He expressed how incredible it was to see his wife regain her confidence and be a part of WrestleMania. He affirmed that WWE has always been her home, and her return during the weekend festivities was a significant moment.

The discussion about Stephanie McMahon’s role in the new era of WWE also included a poll asking viewers if they enjoyed seeing her back on WWE TV, inviting fans to share their opinions on the matter.
