Kofi Kingston Predicts 36-Year-Old WWE Superstar Will Soon Win Seth Rollins’ World Title

Kofi Kingston, a member of the WWE New Day team, believes his teammate Xavier Woods would win the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Woods, who signed with the Stamford-based company in 2010, has held titles such as the NXT Tag Team Championship, RAW Tag Team Title, and SmackDown Tag Team Championship. Despite his accomplishments and winning the King of the Ring tournament in 2021, Woods is the only member of the New Day team who has not yet won a world championship.

Kingston’s Confidence in Woods

During a recent interview with Battleground Podcast, Kingston addressed the possibility of Woods winning Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship. He expressed his confidence in Woods’ capability, stating, “It’s coming. You know, it’s coming. It’s just a matter of time, you know. I’ve been out now for almost 12 weeks and Woods has been doing his thing as a singles competitor. I don’t think a lot of people realize how talented he is. And, you know, he’s just out there proving it every single week. So, it’s just a matter of time.”

Xavier Woods’ Quest for the Universal Championship

Woods believes he deserves a shot at the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. He mentioned his impressive victories over notable WWE stars, including Ricochet, Jinder Mahal, Finn Balor, and The Usos. Woods even claimed to be the first person to break Reigns’ two-year winning streak, although Reigns’ only recognized defeat since 2019 came from Seth Rollins at the 2022 Royal Rumble event.

Controversial Match Against Roman Reigns

In November 2021, Woods fought against Reigns on SmackDown in a match that ended in controversy. Although he appeared close to defeating The Tribal Chief, Woods was attacked by The Usos, leading to a no-contest decision instead of a victory via disqualification. Despite the unresolved nature of their match, Woods remains determined to have another opportunity to face Reigns and prove his worth as a worthy world champion in the WWE.
