Matt Riddle’s UFC Record: A Retrospective on the WWE Star’s MMA Career

Before becoming a champion in WWE, Matt Riddle was best known for his time in UFC. However, towards the end of his tenure, his record in the company wasn’t the best. Throughout his UFC career, Riddle achieved eight wins, three losses, and two no-contests.

Matt Riddle’s UFC Career and Record

Riddle began his Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) career in 2008 as a contestant in The Ultimate Fighter, representing Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Though his team did not win the seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter, Riddle was still signed to the UFC promotion. He fought against various opponents such as Dante Rivera, Dan Cramer, and John Maguire, amongst others. Despite attaining victories against Chris Clements and Che Mills, these decisions were overturned into no-contests after Riddle tested positive for marijuana. Consequently, Riddle was released from UFC in 2013.

Transition to Professional Wrestling

Following his release from UFC, Riddle had a notable back-and-forth with UFC President Dana White on social media and in interviews. Matt Riddle began his professional wrestling career in 2014 and debuted in WWE in 2018. Since then, he has become a prominent figure in the wrestling world, winning multiple titles in WWE and garnering a significant fan base.

Win against UFC Heavyweight Champion

Prior to his MMA career, Riddle had a background in combat sports as an amateur high school wrestler. During this time, he defeated current UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones in a wrestling tournament in 2004 where Riddle represented Saratoga Springs High School, and Jones represented Union-Endicott High School. Matt finished on top, while Jon was placed third. When asked about the encounter, Riddle claimed he defeated Jones twice and expressed his desire to challenge him again in the future.
