Shane McMahon reportedly requested WWE legend’s in-ring comeback for a match after 11 years.

Shane McMahon, son of WWE CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon, reportedly contacted WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan earlier this year and offered him a singles match. Hogan last competed in a WWE ring in 2006, winning a singles match against Randy Orton at SummerSlam 2006. He has not stepped foot in a ring for over a decade.

Hogan discusses conversation with Shane McMahon

In a recent appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Hulk Hogan revealed that Shane McMahon had approached him about a possible match. Shane had asked if Hogan had one more match left in him, to which Hogan responded he would need more work on his back before considering it. Hogan mentioned they could potentially discuss the match next year.

McMahon faces The Miz at WrestleMania 39

Shane McMahon made a surprise return at WrestleMania 39, where he faced former WWE Champion The Miz in an impromptu match. McMahon suffered a torn quad during the match and was taken backstage, while The Miz went on to lose to rapper Snoop Dogg in under three minutes. A match between Hogan, who is almost 70 years old, and a 53-year-old McMahon could have been disastrous, so it’s likely a good thing that Hogan declined the offer.

McMahon’s recovery from quad injury

Shane McMahon has been recovering well from his quad injury, occasionally sharing updates on his progress through his official Instagram account. It remains to be seen if he will make a return to the ring once he is fully healed.
